Women's track and field wins nine events at Rose-Hulman
The women's track and field team placed second of seven teams at Rose-Hulman in Friday's twilight meet. The Panthers collected 186 points and finished second to DePauw's 212.5 points.
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The women's track and field team placed second of seven teams at Rose-Hulman in Friday's twilight meet. The Panthers collected 186 points and finished second to DePauw's 212.5 points.
Sara Yakana managed to win the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.64 seconds, and she also picked up an individual title in the long jump with a mark of 5.30 meters.
The 4x100 meter relay won the title with a time of 47.73 seconds. Taylor Tucker, Laila Graham, Jocelyn Fritz, and Yakana comprised the team.
Graham was also the winner in the high jump with a clearing of 1.60 meters, and Kenzie Kurdys placed first in the pole vault with a mark of 3.43 meters.
Talahiva Talanoa completed a clean sweep in all three throwing events she entered. She recorded marks of 13.25 meters in the shot put, 40.78 meters in the discus throw, and 49.34 meters in the hammer throw.
Abbi Thomason placed first in the javelin throw with an attempt of 38.68 meters.
The Panthers will host the SLIAC championships on Friday and Saturday in Greenville.
