Women's track and field brings home six event titles
ELSAH, Ill. - The women's track and field team had an amazing outing at the Principia Relays, collecting six event titles and multiple second and third-place finishes. Talahiva Talanoa, TyKiaza Jones, and Anna Beth Vancil dominated in their events.
How it Happened:
The Panthers saw first-place finishes from Talanoa, Jones, Vancil, the DMR team, and the 4x800 team.
Talanoa threw 17.43m in the weight throw and 13.63m in shot put to bring home the gold for both events.
After qualifying with a 9.38 time, Jones took first in the 60m hurdles with a 9.23s sprint.
Vancil recorded a 1.60m leap in the high jump to earn the top spot.
Eva Schwaab, Norah Swinigan, Gretchen Carie, and Raven Vance made up the 4x800 team that posted a 10:31.43 for first place. This group of athletes also ran for the DMR team, which landed first in the event with a 13:32.95.
Jazmyn Harmon had a great meet, placing second in the 200m (26.97) and 300m (42.61) while coming in third in the long jump (4.97m) and triple jump (10.60m).
