GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's volleyball team was victorious over UHSP in a 3-1 home opener match.
How it Happened:
The Panthers started it off with a close first set, beating the Eutectics 25-23.
Then GU set the tone with a 25-19 win in the second set.
After losing the third game 25-22, the Panthers came back and demolished UHSP in the fourth set.
Greenville had some impressive offense in the second and fourth sets, hitting .395 and .500 respectively. The Panthers had twenty-one kills in the second set and sixteen in the fourth.
Abby Grohmann and Anna Beth Vancil led GU in kills. Grohmann hit a .391 with twenty-three kills, and Vancil had fourteen kills with a .357 kill percentage.
At setter, Emma Ratermann put up forty-six assists, two kills, and eleven digs.
Elaina Evers was locked in when serving, sending over four aces.

The Panthers (7-5, 2-0 SLIAC) travel to Webster Groves, Mo. on Saturday for a conference tri-match against Webster and Lyon. They face Webster at 10:00 a.m. and Lyon at 12:00 p.m.
