Garcia receives SLIAC Player of the Week after Saturday wins
WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. - The women's volleyball team remains undefeated in conference after their wins against Webster and Lyon. The Panthers beat Webster 3-1 and crushed Lyon 3-0.
How it Happened:
Match 1 vs. Webster
After losing the first set 25-21, the Panthers rallied back and won the next three sets, demolishing the Gorloks 25-7 in the fourth set.
Mia deJesus dominated offensively, putting away thirteen kills and hitting a .611.
Defensively, Lucia Garcia led the team with nineteen digs, three aces, and six assists.
Emma Ratermann had fifty-two assists, pushing her over her one-thousandth assist mark!
Match 2 vs. Lyon
Greenville took match two in three quick games versus Lyon. The Panthers stomped on the Scots in game one, beating them 25-13, and then persisted to win the other two sets.
Abby Grohmann led the team in kills with nine. She also recorded an ace, one block, and five digs.
Garcia excelled again, collecting eleven digs this match. With her outstanding performance, Garcia received the SLIAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week Award.

The Panthers (9-5, 4-0 SLIAC) have three more conference games coming up next weekend. They host Lyon at 7:00 on Friday evening and then play Westminster (Mo.) and Spalding in a tri-match on Saturday.
