Women's cross country earns second at Washington-St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The women's cross country team traveled to No. 2 Washington-St. Louis for a meet at Forest Park on Wednesday morning. In the dual meet, the Panthers were defeated 15-50.

The Bears recorded the top 15 positions in the race and accumulated a perfect score.

Greenville's first runner to finish was Olivia Mansfield in 16th place with a time of 16:55 over the 4170 meter race.

A Washington runner finished behind Mansfield, and then Greenville runners took the rest of the positions.

Gretchen Carie was 18th in the race with a time of 17:13.

Hannah Williams ended third of Greenville's runners in 19th place with a time of 17:30.

Greenville's fourth and fifth positions were held by Sedina Logan (20th, 17:41) and Keiko Palen (21st, 18:11).

The women's team will next compete in Springfield at the Illinois-Springfield meet on Friday, Sept. 10.
