Women's cross country races at Indiana State
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The men's and women's cross country teams raced against very talented runners at the Indiana State course in the John McNichols Invitational. The men's team placed 29th while the women's team placed 27th. Gianni Estrada and Gretchen Carie were their top finishers again.
How it Happened:
Men's 8K
The men's race started at 9:00 a.m. and was in the midst of a very thick fog.
Estrada ran a 25:50.4 to earn 107th place, while Joe Gomez and James Goodenow ran a 27:03.6 and 27:25.0 as the next-best Panthers.
Women's 6K
The women's race contrasted greatly with the men's with the fog lifting and the temperature rising.
Carie ran a 23:52.5 to place 138th. Norah Swinigan and Raven Vance followed with a 25:27 and 26:53.9.
After their great performances at this meet, Estrada and Carie were awarded the SLIAC runners of the week.

The Panthers travel to Rock Island, Ill. on Saturday to run in Augustana's Brissman-Lundeen Invitational. Women will race at noon and men will start at 12:45 p.m.
