The spring athletic seasons ended prematurely for our 2020 class of seniors. Though unable to give them the send-off they deserve, Greenville University appreciates their participation in its Athletic program and wishes them well in all their future endeavors.
The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced the 104 members of its Winter Academic All-Conference team. Greenville led the conference with 29 recipients, over one quarter of all conference awardees. Principia, who ranked second, had 16 members on the academic all-conference team.
The men's track and field team won the first St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference indoor men's track and field championship with a dominating effort on Saturday. The Panthers secured 228 of the 432 points issued, gaining more points than their competitors combined total.
The men's track and field team was led by Dylan Goodyear's victory in the one mile run at Illinois College on Saturday and picked up 126.5 points to win the team title.
They have lined up next to each other on numerous occasions over the years, competing head-to-head in arguably the most exciting track and field events; the dash races and the team relay events. Principia College's Corey Carter and Greenville University's Jeremiah Davis have made a name for themselves not only in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference but nationally. But this past Friday, at the Principia College Relays, the two were just as impressive for something that won't show up on the timing sheets; sportsmanship.
The men’s indoor track and field team opened their 2019-20 season at the Illinois Wesleyan Titan First Chance meet. The Panthers were led by Jeremiah Davis and Dylan Webster who had second place marks in the 300 meter dash and pole vault, respectively.
The National Christian College Athletic Association announced an agreement with Greenville University to host the Men’s & Women’s Outdoor Track & Field National Championships for the 2019-20 and 2020-2021 academic years. The championships will be held at the John M. Strahl Athletic Complex located south of campus.
