After an outstanding junior season, Gregoire Franchomme of Greenville University was recognized for his efforts at the highest level as he was selected Second Team All-America as announced by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) on Tuesday.
The football program saw their offense clicking on all cyclinders as they took Saturday's senior day contest with Minnesota-Morris by a 49-21 final score. Before the game, the Panthers recognized seniors Isaac Akers, Tywon Bender, Bryson Davis, Steven Davis, Colton Faure, Daniel Findley, Derek Greifzu, and Jonny Pruiett.
The football team returned to the win column with a convincing 59-6 win at Crown on Saturday. Greenville received three touchdowns and 220 passing yards from sophomore quarterback George Harris as they eased to the win.
The football team held MacMurray's offense to a season lows with 309 yards of total offense and 19 points, but Greenville's offense was shut down as MacMurray won 19-6.
The football team outscored Saint Scholastica 27-19 in the second half, but a halftime deficit of 28-0 was too much to overcome in Greenville's 47-27 loss on Saturday.
The season opening football game did not finish in Greenville's favor as the Panthers suffered a 76-3 defeat against Millikin. The contest was Greenville's only non-conference tilt of the season leading up to UMAC play on September 9.
